It’s only about 4 months left to the 2015-edition of Ladies Tour of Norway, and we start the countdown with some flashbacks of the highlights from the last year’s sucessfull arrangment:
In connection with Ladies Tour of Norway 2014 in Halden in August, there was taken a lot of pictures by international pressmen. One of these pictures is now nominated to the «Zilveren Camera» of the year in the category Sport Enkel in The Netherlands.
The «Zilveren Camera» is the absolutely biggest photo competition in The Netherland. There are 3 nominees in the category, and it is quite fun that a photo from the pedestrian bridge in Halden is nominated together with a picture of The Netherland’s Robbie van Persie when he scores a goal against Spain in the World Cup in Brazil in 2014:)
Anton Vos’ picture of his sister Marianne Vos on the pedestrian bridge in Halden has also already won several competitions in The Netherland this new year.

The strong Rabo-Live team had 4 riders represented in the breakaway with Marianne Vos, Anna Van Der Breggen, Roxanne Knetemann and Katarzyna Niewiadoma. Orcia-AIS had Emma Johansson and Valentina Scandolara. Tiffany Cromwell (Spezialized Lululemon) and Rossella Ratto (Estado De Mexico Faren Honda) did also made the split.
At the last lap Emma Johansson had a small attack but the Rabo-Liv team was strong and kept it controlled. Knetemann had to give a small gap on the last kilometers and it ended in a sprint with 7 riders. The world champion, Marianne Vos, won and her two remaining team mates joined her on the podium. Anna Van Der Breggen won the overall classification in this first edition of Ladies Tour of Norway.

Vos won the prologue in Ladies Tour of Norway
In a technical course took Marianne Vos the lead from an early startnumber, and could see the rest of the field finish behind her. Lisa Brennauer took second place four seconds behind Vos. After sixth place today, Thalita De Jong took the white jersey and the lead in the young rider competition.
-The prologue fitted me well. It was technical and spectacular with all the wet corners. I’m happy with my win. It’s not decided that the team will ride solely for me in the general classification. We take it day by day and I want a Rabo-Live winner to win Ladies Tour of Norway, said Marianne Vos after the stage.
-There is fun to be in Norway and do a new race. Today’s stage was technical and it was boring with the rain before start. I’m happy with my race and to take lead in the younger classifications. My team stand strong in the general classification. Marianne Vos is the team leader, but with so many of us on the top it can open up for all of us to get a chance of victory. Most important is that one of us win this race, said Thalita De Jong after the stage.
